Ted grew up spending the summers in Chatham on Barcliff Ave. Like many others, he was drawn back to the cape to raise his three children. He began working for local builders and after a few years went out on his own to form E.H. Spencer & Co LLC. Now 35 years later Ted has created a reputation for delivering master craftsmanship and a personalized building experience for his clients. The foundation for his reputation is the idea that a construction project deserves the utmost attention. For him the only way to do that was to be on site himself, with his tools on, focusing on one project at a time.
Matt Spencer
Matt grew up spending as much time with his father as he could. Most of which was helping on construction projects and fishing. It was inevitable that he would absorb the traits of his father. Matt worked with Ted on summer breaks and school vacations throughout high school and college. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Economics Matt began his real estate career in Boston. After a couple of years in real estate, he found himself missing the tangible gratification of the construction industry. He moved back to Cape Cod and started working full time with Spencer & Company as a carpenter. He slowly worked his way into project management and now is a Partner in the company.
