Harvest Moon is found in a serene waterfront setting at the end of a private road off the “Chatham loop.” This custom estate is perched high above the water offering panoramic views of Nantucket Sound and access to Oyster River. This project started as a major renovation and expansion. During construction, issues were found in the infrastructure that resulted in the house being rebuilt from the ground up. The exterior of the home boasts a traditional Gambrel style adorned with cedar roofing and siding as well as standing seam copper roofs and copper gutters. Outdoor living space was maximized for all weather patterns. A sizeable second floor deck allows the clients to take advantage of the water views, below is a dining deck under a pergola, and finally a covered deck off the lower level with heaters located in the paneled ceiling. To complement these entertaining spaces there is a well-equipped outdoor kitchen and a large spa with a waterfall edge. Inside, the client worked with Jocelyn Chiappone to create an interior that balanced traditional millwork with a modern and coastal aesthetic. Every room shows careful consideration to the finishes. Custom tile, ample wallpaper, and elegant plumbing and lighting fixtures can be found in every room.
